MTA Completes Upgrades At This Brooklyn Station: See Where

The subway station rehabilitation work was recently completed.

BROOKLYN, NY — The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has completed subway station rehabilitation work at the Fort Hamilton Parkway station, with crews carrying out functional and aesthetic improvements during the first week of September.

The work included scraping, priming and painting more than 36,000 square feet of ceilings, walls, beams, floors, entrance structures, columns, gates and railings.

Crews also refinished five benches, painted five trash cans and the station booth, and painted and reinforced 20 doors.

To improve safety, workers inspected and reinforced approximately 1,200 square feet of platform rubbing board, replaced 225 square feet of vinyl floor tile and 300 square feet of damaged concrete flooring, and replaced corroded expansion plates.

The MTA said New York City Transit has completed improvement projects at more than 180 stations citywide, including repainting 6.3 million square feet of surfaces, replacing 120,000 square feet of wall tile and 35,000 square feet of floor tile, cleaning more than 4,000 drains and refinishing more than 900 benches.
