Sunset Park's 'Made In New York' Campus Will Include A Food Building
The city is looking for food-related ideas to fill a 7,500-square-foot building on its new manufacturing campus in Sunset Park.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — The city is taking ideas for a 7,500-square-foot building on its new "Made In New York" manufacturing campus in Sunset Park.
The city's Economic Development Corporation wants the building to include a "food manufacturing operation" as well an eating space for workers at the Made In New York campus and the Sunset Park community.
The EDC issued a "Request For Expressions of Interest" for the "lease and operation" of the building on 43rd Street, within the campus of the massive garment manufacturing and TV and film production space planned for Bush Terminal.

Some ideas the EDC offered up for the space include:
- a commercial food manufacturer with an open cafe,
- an established restaurant with a manufacturing facility,
- a commercial caterer with retail storefront,
- a food truck commissary with accessory a retail storefront
- or a culinary school that has a retail component.
The first submissions for the space are due July 25 with final submissions on November 28. You can read more information about the request here.
