2 Syosset Businesses Caught in Underage Alcohol Sting: State Police

Cashiers at four Nassau County establishments were caught selling alcoholic beverages to someone under the drinking age during an Underage Drinker Enforcement Operation on Monday, State Police say.

Police used a State Police operative younger than 21 to check whether the retailers followed state liquor laws.

The following people were arrested and charged with second-degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage:

• Rawel Singh, 59, of Hicksville, employed at 7-Eleven, located at 573 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset.
• Rajeshwar Joshi, 65, of East Meadow, employed at Food Express, located at 391 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset.
• Mahesh Palugudi, 24, of Hicksville, employed at Gulf Gas Station, located at 106 N. Broadway in Hicksville.
• Corina Medina-Ceballos, 42, of Westbury, employed at 21 Broadway Deli, located at 21 Broadway in Hicksville.

All four cashiers were issued an appearance ticket returnable to Nassau County First District Court at a later date.

State Police also checked the below businesses and found them to be in compliance:

• Post Wine and Spirits, located at 510 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset
• Syosset Beverage, located at 600 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset
• King Kullen, located at 271 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset
• ABC Fine Wine, located at 232 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset
• Simply Wine and Liquor, located at 336 N. Broadway in Jericho
• BP Gas, located at 300 N. Broadway in Hicksville
• 7-Eleven, located at 307 N. Broadway in Hicksville
• 107 Liquors, located at 303 N. Broadway in Hicksville
