The 2019 MakeX Robotics New York Open will be held in North America for the first time on October 13th (Columbus Day long weekend). The competition is for students between the ages of 6 and 13. If students know Scratch programming will be better (but not required), each team will have 1-2 students, and each team must include at least one instructor (parents can be instructor). The winners of this New York Open do not need to win multiple rounds to enter the global finals, but directly get tickets to participate in the Shenzhen Global Finals at the end of this year.

The theme of the 2019 season is "City Guardian". The “City Guardian” competition is divided into two parts: the automatic control phase and the manual control phase. Players need to use Makeblock's Mbot robot (https://www.makeblock.com/steam-kits/mbot) to complete the assigned task in 4 minutes and get the competition score. (Refer to )

Because this year is the first time that MakeX has held an official competition in North America, MakeX waive the registration fee for all participating teams. Of course, each team needs to purchase the MBOT robot and the addon pack. The arena kit (competition mat) is recommended but not required. (for a 2 students team, the cost is about $215 per person).

In order to facilitate parents and students to understand and participate in 2019 MakeX New York Open, we will hold a workshop in the middle and late June to introduce relevant competition matters and preparations for participation. Welcome everyone's attention.

For most students who have never been exposed to MBOT, we have also prepared a summer intensive training camp. In order to facilitate everyone's time and various summer camp activities, the training camp will be held ONLINE and provide video recording for replay and review, we hope this can make it easier for students to learn and practice without the constraints of time and location, and can well prepare for the October competition.
