3-Car Crash Kills Elderly Woman in Westbury
The crash occurred on Old Country Road late Thursday morning, police said.

An 84-year-old woman was killed in a three-car crash that occurred late Thursday morning in Westbury, police said.
According to authorities, an 86-year-old man operating a Nissan was attempting to make left turn onto Old Country Road from northbound Merrick Avenue when the vehicle was struck by a Lexus in the eastbound lane of Old Country Road at 11:45 a.m.
The Lexus, driven by a 72-year-old woman, spun around and struck an Audi, driven by a 49-year-old woman, that was also traveling eastbound, police said.

The elderly woman passenger in the Nissan was taken to Winthrop University Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m.
The driver of the Nissan and the Lexus were taken to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The Audi was released at the scene following a brake and safety check and the other two vehicles were impounded for further examination.
Identification of the deceased is being withheld at this time, police said.
