All 7 Syosset Elementary Schools Rank Among State's Best

Forty Long Island schools are on the list complied by Niche.com. Is yours?

Niche.com has released its 2016 rankings of public elementary schools across the country, with 40 Long Island schools making the list of the top 100 in New York.

All seven elementary schools in the Syosset Central District made the list. Here’s how they placed:

  • Village Elementary School— No. 16
  • South Grove Elementary School— No. 20
  • Willits Elementary School— No. 23
  • Baylis Elementary School— No. 28
  • Walt Whitman Elementary School— No. 33
  • Berry Hill Elementary School—No. 36
  • Robbins Lane Elementary School— No. 37

Cold Spring Harbor‘s West Side School, which is located in Syosset, also made the list at No. 80.

A high ranking, according to Niche, indicates that a school “is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students and faculty, and the students are very happy with their experiences.”

Most of the Long Island elementary schools (34 of the 40) that ranked in the top 100 in the state are in Nassau County. The top three schools in the state are all in the Jericho School District.

The top ranked public high school in the country is Glenwood Elementary School in Short Hills, N.J.
