Cops: Tractor Accident Partially Closes LIE [UPDATED]

All lanes officially reopened as of 11 p.m., cops said.

The Long Island Expressway was reopened after partially closing to aid an accident involving a tractor trailer, Nassau County Police reported.

Police responded to Exit 41 just after 6 p.m. Monday, cops said. Responders closed all westbound lanes to secure the scene of an accident that reportedly involved a tractor trailer.

As of 7 p.m., the right westbound lane remains closed, cops said. Officers said responders are still working to secure the scene, an effort they said would take some time.

All lanes were officially reopened more than three hours later, cops said.

Police did not confirm the status of drivers or passengers involved in the accident.
