Super Bowl gatherings are typically known for great food and recipes, from tangy wings to spicy chili. In fact, many firehouse chefs on Long Island have mastered different types of dishes using their culinary creativity.
On Thursday, February 3 at 11:30 am, just three days shy of the Super Bowl, Nassau County’s bravest will demonstrate this mastery by competing for the title of the Best Super Bowl Chili Chef at the Nassau County Firefighters Museum & Education Center in Garden City.
Equipped with crock pots filled with delectable simmering chili, finishing touch foods, such as onions and cheese, and fire department t-shirts, volunteer firefighters will put their cooking skills to the test by preparing their signature fire house chili for the judges.
