Faith Lutheran Church Honors Police and Fire Fighters
Thank you to Police and Fire Fighter for their services to the community.

Faith Lutheran Church at 231 Jackson Avenue in Syosset is a small church with a big heart for its community. Annually on the Sunday closest to 9-11, it invites police from the Second Precinct and fire fighters from the Syosset-Woodbury Fire Department to join the congregation for its 10 am Worship Service. During the worship service, it both honors and prays for the police and fire fighters who serve the community.
This past Sunday both police and fire fighters joined the congregation for worship followed by a special luncheon honoring them. After the luncheon at the church, Pastor Dennis O'Rourke of Faith accompanied by several members went to the local precinct station and to the fire fighters annual picnic and brought food and prayer there as well. Pastor O'Rourke stated, "The members of Faith appreciate the brave men and women who wear the uniform and serve everyone in our fine community. As a church, this is our way of honoring them. We regularly pray God will bless and keep them safe."
The police officers invited the Sunday School children of Faith to sit in and inspect their police cars replete with sounding the sirens. The fire fighters also brought a piece of their equipment which the children enjoyed as well.
