Family Game Night at Borders

Head down to Borders next Thursday for some free fun.

Instead of staying indoors amidst the frigid temperatures, gather the family for a night of fun at Family Game Night at c, to take place Thursday at 6 p.m.

From board to trivia games, has it all.

“We usually play trivia games which are child friendly - I set up two teams and then I ask questions and whoever answers the most questions wins a prize,” said Sharon Katz, Children’s Clerk at Border’s Book and Music in Syosset.

The prizes include puzzle books and posters. The recommended age for Family Game Night is ages eight through 12.

In an effort to bring families together on a weeknight, Family Night aims to please with its stuffed animals, boxed race cars, cupcake sets and picture, pop-up and books with sounds surrounding the trivia playing area in the children’s section.

“The concept is great - Family Game Night is definitely a lot of fun,” Katz said. 

Thursday night's game included the trivia game Split Decision. The game ased questions such as:

Harvard Graduate or High School Dropout?

  1. Chess Master Bobby Fischer – Dropout
  2. Former ABC News Anchor Peter Jennings – Dropout
  3. Academy Award Winning Actor Tommy Lee Jones – Harvard Graduate

Pseudonym or Actual Name?

  1. Stephen King – Actual Name
  2. George Eliot – Pseudonym
  3. Lewis Carroll - Pseudonym

The event is free and parents and children are welcome to enjoy games such as Billionaire, Rage and Word on the Street.
