- Hosting the Holidays at Fairway Market
Where and When: Sat. beginning at 10:30 a.m - 2:30 p.m., Fairway Market, Plainview

Why Go: Listen to the Long Island Piano Duo perform a fusion of musical styles in celebration of the 200th birthday of composer Franz Liszt.

- Gala 2011 featuring Idina Menzel
Where and When: Sat. at 8:30 p.m., Tilles Center for the Performing Arts
Price: $50-$175
Why Go: Listen to Broadway and movie star and Syosset native Idina Menzel, star of Rent and Wicked, sing fan favorites and new hits.
- No Mall Here Rally
Where and When: Sun. at 12 p.m., Robbins Lane side of the Cerro Wire property (adjacent to the LIRR crossing)
Price: FREE
Why Go: Make your voice heard regarding the plans to build a mall at the old Cerro Wire property. Whether you are a firm supporter or completely against it, members from both sides of the debate may attend the peaceful gathering.
Where and When: Sun. 2-5 p.m., Harmony Heights Residential and Day School
Price: $50 (must be 21 years old to attend), contact ellen.benson@harmonyheights.org.
Why Go: The fundraiser helps the school that dedicates services to girls with emotional needs which standard high schools cannot serve. The day will feature “A Taste of Oyster Bay”, cocktails, music, a Chinese and auction and raffles.
- Long Island Restaurant Week
When: Sun. Nov. 6-Sun. Nov. 13
Price: depends upon the restaurant
Why Go: Syosset joins restaurants across the island for the annual Restaurant Week. Beginning Sun. and running all week, , , , and will offer prix fixe menus of their house favorites. Try a new restaurant in Syosset or visit your old favorites.
