Head to Library for Rainy-Day Movies

The weather forecast is a little dreary, so take advantage by checking out the movie schedule at the Syosset Public Library this week. The timing is perfect, as the library is hosting its Films From Classic Books Festival. Each screening will take place at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the library theater. The screenings are free, and all seating is first-come, first-serve.  

* Monday will feature screenings of Emma (PG), the 1996 Oscar-winning comedy/romance starring Gwyneth Paltrow.

* Wednesday will feature screenings of 1997's Oscar-nominated The Wings of the Dove (R).

* Thursday will feature screenings of 1992's Of Mice and Men (PG-13), starring John Malkovich and Gary Sinise. 

* Friday will feature screenings of 1969's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (PG), a movie in which Maggie Smith won an Oscar for Best Actress.
