SENIOR ABBREVIATIONS
By: Carole Blake
I recently went to the doctor because I’ve been having this little “pulsation” problem. At 72 years old, it could be anything, so when the doctor told me I had BFS, I got pretty nervous at first. WHAT is BFS? It stands for Benign Fasciculation Syndrome. HUH? Bottom line after Googling: “In many cases, the severity of BFS symptoms can be significantly reduced by exercising more, sleeping more, working less, meditation, and eliminating all forms of dietary caffeine.” (There goes the Diet Coke I love!)

So basically the doctor told me not to worry about BFS. But then I started to think. In today’s world everyone talks about BFF – Best Friends Forever – and me…I’ve got BFS! I began to think about all the other ‘cool’ abbreviations of this day and age…and how they’re just slightly different for Seniors. Such as:
OMG: Oh My G-d
