Luxury Dog Hotel Company Looking to Expand to Long Island

Those interested in franchising a dog hotel can find out more information at a meeting this month.

Do you want to franchise your own luxury dog hotel on Long Island? Well now's your chance.

The founders of K-9 Resorts Daycare and Luxury Hotel recently announced that they will be hosting a dinner this month in Syosset for anyone interested in owning their own hotel.

The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 17 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Rare650 located on 650 Jericho Turnpike.

While the company does not currently have any locations on Long Island, they are looking to expand.

According to the company's co-founder, Jason Parker, K-9 Resorts, which has locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and California, is looking to start a franchise on Long Island after a study showed that the area has such a strong clientele for their company.

"It's also right next door to New Jersey so it makes sense for us to expand to Long Island," Parker said.

Currently, the luxury dog hotel has 10 open stores and 10 in development across the U.S.

The company launched in 2005 and began franchising in 2011.

In order to franchise a hotel, interested guests must provide $300,000 as a down payment and agree to follow the same values of the company.

"We are a true luxury 5-star luxury hotels for dogs," Parker said. "The is no where on Long Island that provides similar services and where someone can be there own boss and go with a proven successful business model."

The hotels offer cage-free overnight boarding, doggy day care, outdoor group play and more.

"We've been called the Ritz-Carlton of dog hotels," he said.
