Michael Lohan, Kate Major and 'Sex in the City': Woodbury's Liquid Was Hot for Grand Opening Wednesday

Kate Major, fiancée of Michael Lohan (actress Lindsay Lohan's dad) is such a huge fan of Sex in the City that she knew she had to attend the grand opening party of Liquid, hosted by W Events at the Woodbury Country Club on Wednesday night.

The theme: Sex in the City 2.

"Carrie Bradshaw [Sarah Jessica Parker's character in the Sex in the City franchise] is my idol," said Major.

Inspired by the fashions in the movie, Major came dressed to impress. "I love Sex in the City. The fashions that the women wear are the best," she said.

With water fountains illuminating in a 150-foot-long reflecting pool surrounded by palm trees and elegant white lounge chairs, day beds and private tented cabanas, guests feasted on sushi and drank cosmopolitans while enjoying the new club's ambiance.

"We chose the Sex in the City 2 theme because we wanted to premiere the same time as the movie," said Robert Passavia, the owner of W Events, the promotion arm of the Woodbury Country Club. "This was a great chance to capture an audience. Instead of people going to Manhattan after work, come here and have a great time."

According to Passavia, guests should expect a different theme every week.

"It will be very exciting every week for people to enjoy," he said.

The event offered a variety of entertainment, from a juggler to Caribbean music being played on bongos to a dance floor. Winners of the best dressed contest received free tickets at the United Artist Movie Theater in Westbury.  

Syosset's Svetlana Klakotskaia is ready for the Sex in the City 2 release and saw the party as a great precursor.

"I've seen the first movie many times and I used to watch it on HBO a lot. I love the clothes," she said.

Donna Pujia and Lindsay McIntosh, both of Bayville, agree that Sex in the City has great fashion, "but the sex is better."

One thing is for sure: For the guests at the Woodbury Country Club, there is no better way to party than having a great cosmopolitan and wearing great clothes while you're drinking it.

Sex in the City 2 hits the theaters Thursday, starring Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon.
