Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Huntington Crash

A vehicle, operated by a 17-year-old, collided with the motorcycle Thursday night, police said.

A Brooklyn man was seriously injured after police said his motorcycle collided with a car operated by a 17-year-old Thursday night in Huntington.

According to authorities, Quincy Nelson, of Huntington Station, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 southbound on New York Avenue when he made a left turn onto Prime Avenue and collided with a 1974 Honda motorcycle at 9 p.m.

The motorcyclist, identified as Lee Owens, 33, received a dislocated shoulder and a severe laceration on his leg from the crash. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries.

Nelson and two of the passengers in the vehicle were uninjured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

Authorities are continuously investigating the crash and police said Nelson was not issued a ticket.
