No. 69: Shop Syosset's Souk and Persian Bazaar
You would have to travel all the way to the boroughs to find a store like the one right here in our neighborhood.
In our weekly countdown we are getting an education at about all the foods and flavors from the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
Located on Jackson Avenue just south of Holzapple Plumbing, this unique store has been at this location for over 14 years.
Although you may see a hookah in the window don't let that discourage you from entering this gourmet shop loaded with products that once sampled will have you coming back for more. And if you have a question about items on the shelves, the owner, Farhad Ghasemi, will patiently explain what each foodstuff is and its origins.
