No. 73: Have a Ball Training at Frozen Ropes

Batter Up! This fitness facility will create the perfect recipe for your level and talent.

In our weekly countdown you can be a jock of all trades if you venture over to Frozen Ropes, an almost 16,000 square foot space located within an office building, immediately north of on Underhill Boulevard. 

The facility, which opened in March, offers various programs starting with kids from three years of age and all the way up to the collegiate level, even adults looking for circuit and cardio training. It's not just about batting, it is here where you can train like a pro in this indoor arena.

For the youngest ones, ages three to four, there is Born to Play which introduces baseball and softball by working with agility and body control, flexibility and stretching, throwing, catching, hitting, and fielding skills.

The next group, for ages five and six, is the Rookie Club. This will prepare youngsters for little league in a fun, non-competitive environment which will get them ready for the next level, the Minor League program (ages seven through nine).

For ages 10 to 12, they offer Major League Class, fast-paced sessions designed to fine tune hitting, fielding, defensive strategies, and throwing techniques aimed at developing arm strength and accuracy.

Looking to learn from the best, get noticed, and understand what is expected of you at the college level for softball and baseball? Then sign up for College Fest. For three days you will have in-depth instruction from college coaches on staff. It's open to all teenagers who want to get an edge.

On-site is a strength coach who emphasizes "pre-hab" to help prevent future injuries by working on balance, flexibility, and areas that are prone to having issues; all conducted in their professional weight room.

Six tunnels on the premises can be reconfigured to your specifications to work on your swing as well as pitching, fielding, catching and throwing. Video analysis is also available and oftentimes they do comparisons every six months to see how you are progressing.

Birthday parties are a big hit with the kids. They can choose from all sorts of activities such as "grass-ketball" on turf, football, kickball, wiffleball, softball, and of course baseball. There are several packages to meet the needs of your child.

All teams can book slots for practice times or rent space, just make sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible.
