Oyster Bay Supervisor Saladino Visits Variety Child Learning Center to Mark its 60th Anniversary
Supervisor Saladino presented a citation from the Town of Oyster Bay commemorating 60 years since Variety's founding and toured the campus
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino recently visited Variety Child Learning Center’s Syosset campus to recognize the organization’s 60th anniversary, tour the school, and see firsthand the programs and services provided to children with diverse learning needs.
During the visit, Supervisor Saladino presented a citation from the Town of Oyster Bay commemorating 60 years since Variety’s founding. He was welcomed by Variety CEO Janet Koch and Syosset Principal Cynthia Seiden, who led him on a tour of the school along with Donna Cantrell Gerzof, a member of Variety’s Board of Trustees.
Throughout the tour, Supervisor Saladino had the opportunity to meet staff, visit classrooms, and interact with students. A highlight of the visit came in the school’s music therapy department, where he picked up a pair of bongo drums and joined music therapist Siobhan Rooney for an impromptu jam session, much to the delight of the students and those on the tour.
