South Woods students raise $2,500 for the INN of Hempstead through a walkathon.
students sponsored a walkathon to benefit Hempstead's Interfaith Nutrition Network, or INN. The South Woods CARES program eventually raised $2,500 for the INN program, earning the student council a certificate of recognition.
The INN is a Hempstead-based organization that provides food, clothing and temporary shelter to homeless families. South Woods CARES, or Compassion, Awareness, Respect, Empathy and Service, is a character education program that participates in fundraisers such as the INN walkathon.
