Police ID Syosset-Woodbury Drowning Victim
The 44 -year-old man man, who had been swimming in the main pool at the park, was found floating face down on Sunday, police say.
Nassau Police on Monday identified the man who drowned at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park Sunday afternoon Sunday afternoon.
Police say Jonathan Sobel, 44, of Woodbury, had been swimming in the main pool at the park, located at 7800 Jericho Turnpike, when he was found floating face down at 1:25 p.m.
Lifeguards on duty pulled Sobel from the pool and performed CPR, police said. He was transported to North Shore Syosset Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
