Police Seek Man Who Handcuffed Employees, Robbed Hicksville Store at Gunpoint

The incident occurred Thursday night.

Authorities are looking to identify an armed suspect who handcuffed three PETCO employees while he stole money from a safe Thursday night in Hicksville.

According to police, the suspect entered PETCO, located at 265 N. Broadway, armed with a black handgun and used plastic toy handcuffs to secure three employees in the back office while he removed an undetermined amount of cash from a safe at 9 p.m.

Police said the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

The three employees, two women and a man, were eventually able to break free and call police. No injuries were reported.

Authorities described the suspect as a black male, about 30-35 years old, 5-feet-10-inches tall and wearing a white tee shirt, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black baseball hat and a black ski mask.
