Men on Bicycles Rob 2 People at Gunpoint, Knifepoint in Westbury

The incident occurred Sunday morning, police said.

Police are looking to identify three men on bikes armed with a handgun and knives who reportedly robbed two people Sunday morning in Westbury.

According to police, three men on bikes approached two men, ages 17 and 20, and demanded their belongings while speaking in Spanish on Old Country Road and Sylvester Street at 1:20 a.m.

One man complied, handing over his cellphone and a wallet containing cash, and the other man refused, which caused one of the robbers to him him on the head with a handgun, police said.

The robber then reached into the man’s pocket and stole his cellphone and wallet containing a credit card, police said.

The three robbers fled on their bicycles westbound on Old Country Road and then south on Grand Boulevard.

The second man received a small laceration on his head. No other injuries were reported.

Police described the robbers as male Hispanics in their twenties, tall with thin builds, wearing black ski masks and dressed in dark clothing. No further description is available.
