Syosset Commencement 2012: Know Before You Go

It's , Syosset! Here is everything you need to know before you head out the door for your big day.

1. A mandatory graduation rehearsal is at 10 a.m. Wednesday for students only. For students who don't drive, buses will be at to transport them at 9:15 a.m. and will bring them back after rehearsal ends.

2. Seniors must arrive at Hofstra by 7 p.m. for commencement and guests are urged to be in their seats by 7:45 p.m.

3. Plan your route so you're not driving around in circles at 7:59 p.m. First, check Patch Commute's live traffic map so you can avoid the trouble traffic zones. The Mack Complex is on the northern side of Hempstead Turnpike and the eastern side of campus. You can enter through the California Avenue gate, turn onto Northern Boulevard, and park near the complex, which is #51 on the attached PDF of the map of Hofstra.

4. According to the school, boys are required to wear dress slacks, dress shirt, dark socks, and shoes. Girls must wear a dress, skirt, or slacks with shoes or dressy sandals. and although you'll be indoors, you'll also be wearing a cap and gown while you mingle outside taking photos. Be sure to hydrate and opt for the lightest clothing possible while still looking your best!
