Syosset Elementary Schools Rank Among Best In State: Niche

All seven elementary schools in the Syosset School District made Niche.com's list of the state's top 100 elementary schools in 2018.

In all of Long Island, a total of 36 schools ranked among the best in the state.

Two Syosset elementary schools made the top 10 including Village Elementary School, which ranked at No. 6 and South Grove Elementary School which ranked at No. 10.

“While we believe that Syosset is one of New York State’s best school districts, we try to not place too much emphasis on these types of rankings,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tom Rogers said. “The acknowledgment is a welcome positive reflection on our programs and practices, and it’s particularly gratifying when all of your schools are recognized.”

Here are the rankings for the rest of the schools:

• No. 16— Willits Elementary School
• No. 21— Walt Whitman Elementary School
• No. 31— Baylis Elementary School
• No. 32— Berry Hill Elementary School
• No. 34— Robbins Lane Elementary School

This is the third year in a row all seven schools in the Syosset School District made the list.

Eight schools in New York’s top 10 are all from Nassau County. Just four schools in Suffolk County made the list.

Robert Seaman Elementary School in the Jericho UFSD was ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 in New York. In fact, the top 3 elementary schools in New York all belong in the same school district. The top Suffolk County school on the list was Amagansett School in the Amagansett UFSD at No. 47.

The nation’s top elementary school was found to be Pine View School in Sarasota, Florida.
