News broke on Patch Friday that the first of many prospective tenants had signed on at the proposed retail center replacing Syosset Ford.

Residents reacted to the plans in an earlier story with mostly high hopes for the new place.

"I'm all for developing all the vacant properties into appropriate businesses making the Cerro notion even less of an attractive one (if that is even possible)," wrote iris.

"Prime real estate for prime shopping and restaurants!!!!! Awesome. I can't wait until it opens!!!" reacted Anthony Fulgieri.

Others thought the project should proceed with caution.

"I really don't think we need more potentially empty storefronts," said Tricia Shannon.
