Variety Child Learning Center Holds Winter Wonderland Festival and Scholastic Book Fair

Variety Child Learning Center (Variety), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development, education, and inclusion of children with differing abilities, recently hosted its annual Winter Wonderland Festival and Scholastic Book Fair at its Syosset campus. This event aimed to celebrate and support children with differing abilities, encouraging school pride and involvement.

At the event, which was just before the winter recess, parents, students, and staff celebrated the anticipation of a week off from school with such fun activities as mock sledding and paper plate skating, “snow much fun” sensory, a hot chocolate marshmallow toss, a snow globe photo booth, music, dance, and other engaging activities. These joyful moments help foster a sense of school pride and shared happiness.

During the book fair, students had the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of age-appropriate books to read or have read to them during the school break, supporting the goal of encouraging consistent reading habits. We encourage parents and students to explore the books and continue fostering a love for reading at home.
