Mara Navaretta of Homes By Mara Realty Of Syosset Named 2016 Town of Oyster Bay Women of Distinction Honoree
Town of Oyster Bay recently named Mara Navaretta of Syosset's Homes By Mara Women of Distinction honoree.

Syosset, NY; March 11, 2016 –Mara Navaretta of Woodbury, NY, owner and president of Homes By Mara Realty of Syosset, NY, was recently named among this year’s Town of Oyster Bay Women of Distinction Honorees. Navaretta was selected among this year’s award recipient for contributions and achievements she has made within her business and community.
Lori Lesser of Plainview, a friend and colleague of Navaretta who submitted Navaretta’s nomination late fall of last year, is excited to see Navaretta named among this year’s Town of Oyster Bay Women of Distinction recipients. “Mara is truly an inspirational woman – both personally and professionally,” explains Lesser. “Not only has she devoted tremendous time and commitment in ensuring top notch, personal service for the many home buyers and sellers she works with but she has also been equally dedicated to making a difference by giving back to various community causes whenever possible.”
Since opening her own boutique real estate agency in 2010, Navaretta’s Homes By Mara has grown exponentially – doubling its sales volume and increasing its number of agents from just five to 40 today. This steadfast growth recently led to Navaretta’s recent purchase of former Angelina’s II Italian Cuisine Restaurant, located at 30 Berry Hill Road in Syosset. In buying this property and completing its renovations, Homes By Mara is increasing its space from 2,000 square feet to 4,000 square feet to accommodate its influx of new agents and growing clientele. Scheduled for completion with an opening date for this May or June, Navaretta is looking forward to broadening her services through her expanded headquarters to further support the needs of home buyers and sellers within the Town of Oyster Bay’s vast communities.

In between tending to her real estate business and being a devoted wife and mom, Navaretta has made it her business to participate in several community outreach and non-profit initiatives. She is a regular monetary contributor to the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation and most recently partnered with the Ashley Wade Foundation’s Jake’s Jammies pajama drive in November and December 2015 where she collected over 300 store bought pajamas that were given to children who were spending their holidays in the hospital. In addition, Navaretta has also sponsored support efforts of her own, hosting various Coat Drives and Toy Drives over the last five years.
“Mara is certainly most deserving of being recognized as a Woman of Distinction,” says Town Of Oyster Bay Councilwoman Rebecca Alesia. “A dynamic entrepreneur, Mara started her own business during an economic downturn and has seen it flourish exponentially within just five short years. Her recent acquisition of a new headquarters in Syosset is proof positive of her commitment to seeing her business succeed and thrive within the Town of Oyster Bay. In addition to her strong business acumen, she is a strong supporter of local charitable organizations, further demonstrating her commitment to making her community a great place to live, work and raise a family.”

Navaretta says she feels fortunate and humbled to be in the company of such remarkable local women leaders. “The women I am privileged to share this special award recognition with have each made tremendous footprints within the Town of Oyster Bay communities,” comments Navaretta. “It is a real honor to be among this year’s distinguished honorees.”
Town of Oyster Bay’s Women of Distinction is held each year to pay tribute to the outstanding accomplishments of women throughout the Town of Oyster Bay. Navaretta will receive her Town of Oyster Bay Women of Distinction Award among seven other women honorees during the 18th Annual Town of Oyster Bay Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Oyster Bay Town Hall East.
