The Deal: Tis the season for planting. Stew Leonard's Garden Center offers a free workshop featuring lessons on lawn and gardening techniques and trends. Handouts on each topic will be given to attendees for home reference. Store is located in Yonkers at 1 Stew Leonard Dr.
The Dates: Saturday mornings, 9 - 10 am. Upcoming topics are: May 21 - Tomatoes; June 4 - Fruit trees and bushes; June 11 - Roses; June 18 - Birds and butterflies; June 25 - Weeds and pest controls; July 9 - Perennials; July 16 - Hydrangeas; July 23 - Insects and diseases; July 30 - Deer and other critters; Aug 6 - Care of shrubs; Sept 17 - Bulbs/Winterizing. Note: There will be no workshops held on holiday weekends (Memorial Day/May 28, Independence Day Weekend/July 2, Labor Day/September 4), August 27, and September 10.
