Clinton and Trump in Dead Heat in 4 Battleground States: Poll
The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll was released the same day it was announced Clinton had pneumonia.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll shows presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump to be neck and neck in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and New Hampshire.
The poll, released Sunday, was among likely voters in each state, including voters who are undecided but leaning toward a candidate.
Likely voters were asked “If November’s presidential election were held today, whom would you support…?”

All four polls had a 3.8 percentage margin of error.
Dr. Lee M. Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, said, at this stage in what has been an unconventional election, it wouldn’t be surprising if the electoral map was reshaped.
“Any of these four state could awaken a fault line in what is looking more and more like a shake-up election with more states being up for grabs,” he said.
For Arizona, Donald Trump, who has a home in Bedford and properties in the Hudson Valley, led Clinton 42-41 among likely voters.
Of those, 63 percent said they strongly support their candidate, with Trump supporters 2 percentage points more firmly committed than Clinton supporters.
In Georgia, 46 percent of likely voters support Trump to Clinton’s 43.
About two-thirds of likely voters strongly support their candidate.
The NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll calls Nevada a tossup, with only 1 percentage point separating Clinton at 45 and Trump at 44.
Likewise in New Hampshire, Clinton barely comes out on top at 42 percent to Trump’s 41.
With Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein added to the mix, only the Nevada results are reversed, with Trump besting Clinton by 1 percentage point.
In all four states, the poll found that a strong majority of likely voters have a negative impression of Clinton and Trump.
The poll came out the same day that concerns over Hillary Clinton’s health made headlines.
The former secretary of state, who lives in Chappaqua, left a 9/11 memorial service at the World Trade Center early and, according to some videos, she appeared to stumble and required assistance as she got into her vehicle.
A spokesman said, at the time, Clinton was “overheated” and went to her daughter’s apartment.
Clinton emerged later, saying she felt fine, but shortly afterward, her doctor, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack of Mount Kisco, issued a statement that Clinton was being treated for pneumonia.
The former senator has cancelled her campaign visit to the West Coast Monday, the Associated Press reported.
