EF Students Let Loose at Culture Fair
A slideshow of the second annual Culture Fair at Tarrytown's EF School
On Friday, hundreds of students at Tarrytown's EF school represented their home countries and cultures with vibrant displays and hometown hospitality.
Walking through the halls of the campus you could hear blaring patriotic Russian songs, smell spiced beef being sautéed and could see the proud national colors and paper mache mock-ups of famous monuments from around the globe.
This year's event was opened to the public, which attracted many school students and a handful of locals as well.

"This is my second Culture Fair... I love learning about all the different cultures," said Sara Goodman, a university preparation teacher with EF.
Goodman was helping to represent Hungary at the event, a country that she has family ties to.

"Here on EF campus you have students who are coming from so many different countries and this is the one day they get to share their language, their food and get deeper insight into who they are and where they are from," she said.
Of course, aside from being a great opportunity to learn, socialize and have a good time, the judges were out to see which countries raised the bar this year.
"Being able to go to the different rooms has been great, we've only been to a couple of places but it's fantastic, they really do a great job," said James Hardie, one of this year's judges. "We're enjoying it, we're making out way and there are still several floors to go."
Only a handful of groups represented at the school came away with judges' awards. Awards went to the following countries:
- Best Games - Belgium
- Best Communication - Turkey
- Best Decoration - France
- Best Overall - Brazil
- Best Food - Colombia
- Best Costumes - Japan
- Best Performance - Russia
You can check out our extensive photo gallery from the event, and if you missed it this year, faculty at EF said Culture Fair will be back again next year. Until next then, ciao!
