At Least 27 Homeless From Sleepy Hollow Fire

The Red Cross was on the scene helping displaced people.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — A two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon in Sleepy Hollow left at least 27 people without homes. Firefighters fought the flames and smoke for more than two hours before it was extinguished.

One police officer was treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation and a firefighter and a resident of the Barnhart Avenue home were treated at the scene, the Journal News said.

The Red Cross helped 27 adults with hot food and drink, care packages and emotional support.
