Local Businesses Declared 'Best' in Westchester
Westchester Magazine's annual 'Best in Westchester' edition singles out some local favorites.

Westchester Magazine has published its annual "Best Of" edition for the year.
The 2010 Best in Westchester guide highlights businesses that offer the crème de la crème in terms of services and products – whether that be the sweetest slice of pie, or the preferred stylist to trust with your hair.
A number of local businesses were singled out by the magazine's editorial team, and through a process of reader submissions. You can check out the full list of businesses in the Best in Westchester edition here.

Restaurants

- Sweet Grass Grill - This Tarrytown establishment earned two nods: one for being the best "Ingredient-Driven Restaurant", and another for its dessert – the apple cider donuts with vanilla bean ice cream and cider-caramel sauce earned the acclaim of one of the magazine's food critic staffers.
- Chiboust - Not to be outdone in the sweets category, Chiboust was given acclaim for it's apple rhubarb pie.
- Sol Mar - The restaurant's fried cod cakes were labelled the best in the county.
- Tyrynda Thai - The magazine bucked the notion that crêpes should be made in the traditional French style, and gave Tyrynda Thai praise for the best Thai Crêpes.
Nightlife
- Town Tavern - Sleepy Hollow's Town Tavern may have burned down (the Beekman Avenue location is almost finished being remodeled), but the bar (now on Clinton St.) was declared as the best place for Saturday night karaoke.
Shopping/Services
- Déjà vu - The Tarrytown thrift store was declared the best Adult Consignment Shop.
- Bark & Meow - The South Broadway establishment earned a readers' award for best pet store.
- Eclipse - The hair salon on North Broadway was given two readers' awards; one for best men's salon, the other for best hair colorist (Matt Gagliardi)
- Juliana Rose - Of all the antique stores out there, this local shop was given the coveted "best" title.
- Canfin Gallery - Earned a nod from reader's as the best art gallery.
Entertainment
- Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts - Credit was given to this non-profit for their innovative dance classes, specifically their Hip-Hop classes.
- Tarrytown Music Hall - Earned a readers' recognition note for being the best theater in the county.
People
- Sleepy Hollow resident David Rockefeller, Jr. was singled out as the county's leading philanthropist.
