Public Comment Set for Sleepy Hollow Portion of Former GM Site

The commenting process will be continued for two additional dates.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — A public hearing on the East Parcel of the former General Motors property in Sleepy Hollow has been set by the village.

The public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 23 and will be continued Monday, September 12 and Tuesday September 20, according to a notice from Village Clerk Paula A. McCarthy Tompkins.

The hearings will be opportunities for public input on the application for a special permit and riverfront development concept plan.

Sleepy Hollow wants to construct a new Department of Public Works facility, a new bus repair garage for the Tarrytown school district, an overpass connecting the East and West Parcels, new recreation facilities for the village and new parking facilities.

Construction began in May on the West Parcel, a 67-acre portion of the old GM site.

Edge-on-Hudson is a $1 billion mixed-used development that will include a hotel, restaurants, retail spaces and more than 1,100 housing units.

There will also be a 16 acres of parkland and a waterfront promenade.

The public hearing will be held at Sleepy Hollow Village Hall, 28 Beekman Ave.
