Sleepy Hollow Street Fair Attracts 80 Exhibitors–Half to Make Their First Appearance at This Event

Seven hours of festivities on Beekman Avenue have been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10.

Sleepy Hollow’s Annual Street Fair, conducted by the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Beekman Avenue. The festivities include entertainment, lots of food, a cake sale and merchandise and clothing stands. Last year the turnout for this event exceeded 6,000.

Live music, provided by the Hog Jowl band, will be sponsored by J.P. Doyle's; the restaurant will have tables set up in front and its backyard open-air beer garden and inside dining room will also be open. A special menu will include normal fare plus Street Fair staples–sausage and peppers, pulled pork, and cheesesteaks.

The show sponsor is North American Gold Refinery which will conduct free appraisals for gold and silver objects and pay cash.

Matthew Gullotta, the refinery's president and founder, says a free appraisal typically takes about three minutes including precision-scale weighing of gold and silver. Participants need to provide proof of age (must be 18 or older) and identity (a driver's license is acceptable).

Eighty vendors have reserved exhibiting space–approximately one-half are participating for the first time. The food vendors include:
