Black Lives Matter Sign Ripped Down Outside Of Stony Brook Church: Cops

A man damaged the sign back in October, and Suffolk police say they are looking for him.

STONY BROOK, NY — A man ripped down a Black Lives Matter sign outside of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook back in October, and Suffolk police said Friday they are now looking for him.

The sign, which was planted in the ground on Nicolls Road, was taken down just after 12 a.m. on Oct. 26., according to police. In a screen grab taken from surveillance video, the man can be seen walking up to the large white sign with black letters and then reaching for the sign. He is wearing light-colored pants, a striped jacket or hoodie, Adidas sneakers, and what appears to be a motorcycle helmet.
