Brook House Sold to New Developer

Restaurant called Stony Brook home for 24 years.

, Stony Brook Village Center's nostalgic soda fountain, will change its name in 2011 as new developers take over the restaurant.

Former Brook House owners Michelle Bentivenga and Karen Langrock intend to retire after 24 years of owning the restaurant. New owners Bill Sukow and Kevin Haranta of Rockwell Cuisine Concepts LLC will expand on the restaurant's classic American motif in what will become Long Island's first "Norman Rockwell's American Café."

"[We] feel that people are yearning for simpler times and this will be reflected in the restaurant's theme and our menu items," Sukow said.

Eagle Realty Holdings announced the sale Nov. 10.

"Karen and Michelle will be missed by the community as we begin a new era with Bill and Kevin and Norman Rockwell's American Café," the firm said in a statement.

Bentivenga and Langrock could not be reached for comment.
