100% of tournament proceeds will be donated directly to Stony Brook Children's Hospital. Play chess, have fun, and make a difference!
This is an unrated, friendly, and welcoming event. Any youth player who can complete a chess game independently is welcome. Don't worry if your child has no prior tournament experience—taking that first step to face an opponent and finish a game is an incredible milestone for growth!

📋 Tournament Overview Eligibility: Ages 18 &amp; under, all skill levels welcome. (Note: Parents/guardians must stay on-site; no drop-offs for ages 12 and under).
Format: 2 Sections (Beginner &amp; Intermediate) | 4 Rounds | 15–20 minutes per player.
Awards: Trophies for the Top 4 players in each section; medals for all players scoring 2+ points.

TEN years ago, in a former helicopter factory in Flowerfield, St. James, NY, The Atelier was born. It was modeled after the great traditions of the early Florentine masters, where students could draw and paint alongside their teachers in an environment devoted to learning, mentorship and artistic excellence.
TEN years later, The Atelier continues to grow and flourish!
To celebrate TEN years of creativity, we invited artists to submit a 10” x 10”&nbsp;piece of artwork, excluding square frame, which includes TEN of anything…trees, music notes, flowers, boxes, birds, lines…the possibilities are up to the artist!
