FREE Lymphedema Screening at Mather Hospital 10/15

The screening will take place at 10:30 am in Conference Room 2. Registration is required. To register, call 631-686-7648.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer and have had lymph nodes removed, you may be at risk of developing lymphedema, a swelling of the limbs due to an interruption of the lymphatic circulation. You should be screened if:

• You have experienced swelling following treatment for cancer
• Received radiation as part of your treatment
• Have a family history of lymphedema
• Had any procedure involving a lymph node dissection

Although lymphedema is a chronic condition, it can be managed with proper care and treatment. The Lymphedema Treatment Center at Mather Hospital is one of the largest hospital-based programs on Long Island.
