Motorcyclist Dies After Crash With Tractor-Trailer in Holtsville
Crash occurred Tuesday night.

A 53-year-old Holtsville man has died following a crash Tuesday night in which the man’s motorcycle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer, police said.
Leonard Mastro died from his injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital on Wednesday morning, police said.
According to police, Mastro was riding his 1976 BMW motorcycle west on Long Island Avenue when the bike struck the rear of a tractor-trailer that had also been heading west on Long Island Avenue and was attempting to make a right turn into Bissett Nursery. The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m.

Mastro was ejected from the motorcycle, which was then dragged under the tractor-trailer before catching fire, police said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Rhondle Carlton Day Jr., of North Carolina, was not injured.
