Stony Brook 1, Hofstra 0: Marc Godelman fed Kyle Schlesinger for the game-winner with 51 seconds left in overtime to give Stony Brook (1-0) the win in both teams' season opener at Hofstra (0-1) on Wednesday. Stefan Manz made six saves for the Seawolves.

Women's Volleyball

St. John's 3, Stony Brook 0: Alicia Nelson notched eight kills and six digs as the Seawolves fell, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19, on Monday. Sophomore setter Corinne Perry put up 17 assists in the loss for Stony Brook (0-4). St. John's is 4-1.
