Stony Brook 1, Dartmouth 0: Berian Gobeil sent a diving header into the net to lift Stony Brook (2-4) over Dartmouth (2-1) on Sunday in the Dartmouth Classic Tournament, snapping a four-game losing streak. Stefan Manz made four saves in his second shutout of the season.

Columbia 3, Stony Brook 0: The Seawolves (0-6-1) combined for 12 shots on goal but fell to Columbia (4-1-0) in their final nonconference road game of the season.

Stony Brook 2, Sacred Heart 2: The Seawolves scored twice within the span of three minutes to recover from a two-goal deficit in the second half, and fought Sacred Heart to a double-overtime tie on Friday. Sa'sha Kershaw and Dominique Adamo each scored goals and goalkeeper Chelsea Morales made eight saves for Stony Brook.

Next in action: At home Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. against Fairfield.

Cross Country

Drew Dillingham, the top finisher for the Stony Brook men's cross country team, ran the 8K in 25:41 to finish in tenth place at the Boston College Invitational on Saturday. For the women, Annie Keown took fourth, finishing the 5K in 17:39.

Women's Volleyball

Stony Brook 3, Fordham 2: Alicia Nelson landed 18 kills, including four in the deciding set, as the Seawolves (4-7) beat Fordham 17-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 23-21 on Saturday at the Rose Hill Classic. The Seawolves finished in second place at the four-team tournament. Nelson added 10 digs, Ashley Headen added 15 kills and Jeanette Gibbs had 13 digs in the win.

Stony Brook 3, Harvard 1: Nelson tallied 18 kills and Gibbs added 16 digs as the Seawolves beat Harvard, 25-19, 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, in another Rose Hill Classic match on Saturday.

Stony Brook 3, Rider 0: The Seawolves launched an attack that combined for a season-best .342 hitting percentage in a 25-20, 25-17, 25-15 win over Rider on Friday at the Rose Hill Classic.

Syracuse 3, Stony Brook 0: Headen had eight kills and Nelson had seven in the Seawolves' 25-20, 25-14, 25-19 loss to Syracuse on Friday at the Rose Hill Classic.

Next in action: Next weekend against George Mason and Towson at the Marriot Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville, Va.
