Shed the Meds - Open to All!

Properly dispose of old medications in a way that is safe for the environment.

Proper disposal of unused medications is essential to protect the environment and ensure that old drugs don’t end up in the wrong hands. The World Health Organization recommends reducing their entry into the water environment through proper public disposal of pharmaceuticals. For this reason, Emma Clark Library is pleased to offer a “Shed the Meds” event, hosted by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, January 13 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The sheriff’s office will be collecting in the Vincent R. O’Leary Community Room on the lower level of the library and will accept any type of drugs/medications. There is no registration required and all are welcome.

If you have any questions, please email askus@emmaclark.org or call 631.941.4080.
