On Saturday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. Long Island Voices, together with the Sound Symphony, will present a benefit concert at St. James R.C. Church in East Setauket.
Long Island Voices has chosen to partner with 9-1-1 Veterans, a local not-for-profit veterans support group. Under the leadership of Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, LI Voices embraces the concept of communities taking responsibility for “their” veterans. Founded in 2010, LI Voices is a diverse group of singers representing many Long Island choruses and choirs who have joined together along with the Sound Symphony - volunteering their time and talents - to make this concert possible.
The concert will feature the choral masterwork, Brahms’ “German Requiem” along with several original pieces composed by musical director, Michael Bussewitz-Quarm. Tickets are available online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/long-island-voices-presents-brahms-german-requiem-for-911-veterans-benefit-tickets-12415869199. Tickets will also be available at the door. Suggested ticket price is $20, but all donations are gratefully accepted.
