St. Charles Hospital Announces Collaborative Partnership with Orthopedic Associates of Long Island

St. Charles Hospital has entered into a collaborative partnership with Orthopedic Associates of Long Island (OALI), effective August 1, 2014

St. Charles Hospital is pleased to announce they have entered into a collaborative partnership with the orthopedic practice of Orthopedic Associates of Long Island (OALI), effective August 1, 2014. The OALI group will now accept all the insurances St. Charles offers. In addition, this venture will create a stronger continuum of care for all patients.

“I am thrilled that such an esteemed group of orthopedic physicians has joined the St. Charles Hospital family,” said Jim O’Connor, executive vice president/chief administrative officer, St. Charles. “St. Charles and the OALI group share a commitment to providing high quality orthopedic services to our patients. Together, as part of one organization, we have a great opportunity to enhance orthopedic care across our community and the Catholic Health Services system to better meet the needs of our patients.”

The transition of OALI to a member of the St. Charles Hospital family should be seamless for all patients. The practice will maintain their six locations in Commack, East Setauket, Patchogue, Wading River, Riverhead, and Southampton and there will be no changes in day-to-day operations.

Orthopedic Associates of Long Island is a multispecialty orthopedic group with physicians specializing in general orthopedics, joint replacement, spine care, upper extremity, foot and ankle, pain management, sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics. The practice employs 13 physicians/orthopedic surgeons; many of whom are nationally recognized. Recognitions include being the first in the northeast to offer computer navigation and minimally invasive orthopedic surgery for hip and knee replacement, the second group in the U.S. to perform an FDA approved reverse ball and socket total shoulder replacement and the second on Long Island to perform unicompartmental knee replacement with robotic arm navigation.
