Ward Melville Fencing Coach Receives National Award

Congrats to Jeff Salmon!

Ward Melville High School fencing coach Jeff Salmon has been selected as the inaugural winner of the USA Fencing National High School Coach of the Year Award for 2017. Eighteen individuals from high schools located in nine different states were nominated for this prestigious award and a pool of five finalists were selected and evaluated by a special committee.

Under coach Salmon’s leadership, Ward Melville’s teams have continued a winning tradition, including capturing the 2016-17 Long Island Championship. Additionally, over the past 15 years, the program has maintained an unparalleled winning streak that ranks among the most impressive in interscholastic athletics nationwide.
