Ward Melville Represented in NCAA Lacrosse Playoffs

Some men's and women's players hail from Three Village.

A handful of lacrosse players from Ward Melville are among dozens of men and women from Long Island who are playing or coaching in the upcoming NCAA lacrosse tournaments.

Here's a look at who's playing where:

Division I

  • Steven Rastivo plays for No. 8 UNC, which will face Maryland in a 1 p.m. game on May 15 that will be broadcast by ESPNHD/ESPN3.com.
  • Matt Spagnoli plays for unseeded Bucknell, which will face No. 7 Virginia a 3 p.m. game on May 15 that will be televised on ESPNU HD.
  • Mackenzie Hommell plays for the women of No. 5 Duke, which faces unseeded Penn at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Richie Hurley plays for unseeded Siena, which has the tallest task of them all – facing top-seeded Syracuse on Sunday. The game will air at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU HD.

Division III

  • J.C. Ward plays for Gettysburg, which faces Scranton on Wednesday, May 11.
  • Ryan Molloy and his teammates at Tufts University, the No. 2 seed in the North bracket, received a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Union/Nazareth matchup on May 14.
