UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Ivana Trump died from blunt impact injuries to the torso after an accident at her Upper East Side home, the city's medical examiner said Friday.

The 73-year-old former wife of ex-president Donald Trump was found dead around 12:40 p.m. Thursday near a staircase in her home at 10 East 64th St., between Madison and Fifth avenues, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Now, Ivana Trump's death has been ruled accidental, the city's Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) said.

"Having released this determination, OCME will not comment further on the investigation," a spokesperson said Friday.

Police had previously said that Trump had been found at the base of a staircase, and authorities were investigating whether she had fallen down the stairs prior to her death, as the New York Post reported.

Ivana, the mother of Donald Trump's three eldest children, had been suffering from hip problems that had recently left her confined to her home, the Post also reported.

Donald Trump confirmed Ivana's death on his conservative Truth Social platform, calling his former wife "a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.

"Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric," he wrote. "She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!"

Her children — Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka — released their own statement, calling their mother "a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend."

Originally from Czechoslovakia, Ivana was pursuing a modeling career in New York when she met Donald Trump in 1976, marrying him the following year. After more than a decade as one of the city's top power couples, they divorced in 1992.
