The NY-12 candidate was previously a sponsor of "Cecilia's Act," but as of Monday, his name is no longer on the list.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Upper East Side Assemblymember Alex Bores, a candidate in the NY-12 congressional race, removed his name from the list of sponsors on a bill to decriminalize sex work, according to a report from Politico.

Previously, Bores was a co-sponsor of the bill, which would repeal parts of the criminal code related to prostitution and wipe the records of sex workers' prostitution arrests, Politico's Playbook reported.

The bill, called "Cecilia's Act," is sponsored by two Democratic Brooklyn lawmakers, Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest and State Senator Julia Salazar.
