Doctor Found Dead In Park Ave. Home With Knife In Torso: NYPD
Dean Lorich's body was discovered in his Park Ave. building near East 96th Street, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A doctor was found dead with a knife in his torso in his Park Avenue apartment building Sunday, police said. Officers found the body after being called to 1230 Park Ave. just after 1 p.m.
The man was named by police as Dean Lorich, 54, He lived at the address, which is close to East 96th Street, police said.
A police source said the death was being treated as a suicide, though no note was found, and that the body was discovered by Lorich's daughter.

The source said Lorich worked at New York Presbyterian hospital. News reports and the hospital's website say he was Associate Director for Orthopaedic Trauma Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York Presbyterian.
The New York Post reported that he was the doctor who treated U2 singer Bono after a cycling accident in Central Park in 2014.

Emergency workers declared him dead upon arrival. No arrests had been made as of Sunday, according to the NYPD.
